Kateproof offers an affordable and efficient proofreading service

I am a qualified and experienced freelance proofreader and copy editor with a passion for language and an eye for detail.

I offer a truly bespoke service with a focus on your needs using my experience gained from working in-house and freelance to provide you with an accurate, high quality and professional end product, which will help you and your written material stand out from the competition.

I am fully proficient in the use of the British Standard Proofreading Symbols. I can mark up hard copies and post them back or everything can be done electronically with annotations/sticky notes on a PDF or using track changes on a Word document. This means that regardless of where you are located, I can offer you the same high standard of proofreading and copy editing.

I have experience of working on:

  • books
  • magazines
  • websites (including SEO)
  • university papers
  • business documents, including tenders and annual reports.

I also have experience of working with texts written by non-native speakers so can edit those to make company reports, websites or other documents read as if they were written by a native speaker/writer.

"Kateproof provides a swift and excellent service. Errors are corrected. Suggestions for improved clarity are made. Useful clarifying questions are asked. The work remains recognisably the author's own work and style - only better! "
David Baume, BA MA PhD FSEDA.

"Thank you for handing the thesis back so quickly, it really helped to keep my submission plan on track. You did a first class job and I have passed your details on to a couple of friends ..."
Lila, PhD in Mexican Politics. February 2012
